eXactpark™: Your Most-Asked Questions, Answered

In conversations, we hear many of the same questions about how eXactpark™ works and what it can help teams achieve. To make things easier, we’ve put together clear, simple answers to the questions we’re asked most often.

How can eXactpark help with enforcement?

Parking teams often ask how eXactpark can support day-to-day enforcement activities. The platform helps in two keyways:

Real-time visibility:

eXactpark combines stall-level occupancy with payment data (when available) and length-of-stay information to show where vehicles may be violating posted rules—whether that’s unpaid parking or exceeding a time limit. This allows enforcement officers to focus their efforts where they’re most needed, instead of relying on routine patrols or chance.

Historical trends:

The system also provides detailed historical data that helps identify patterns, such as areas with consistently low payment rates or times of day with a high number of overstays. These insights can guide planning and staffing decisions, so enforcement teams know where and when to deploy resources more effectively.

Can eXactpark integrate with existing infrastructure and tools?

Yes. eXactpark is an open, comprehensive solution designed to integrate with payment providers, enforcement tools, public-facing sites, mobile apps, and a range of other technologies. Some organizations use the eXactpark dashboard as their primary interface, while others bring eXactpark data directly into the platforms they already rely on.

eXactpark also integrates with a broad ecosystem of industry partners—including payment apps, guidance tools, analytics platforms, and other mobility technologies. You can see a full list of our integration and technology partners here: https://eleven-x.com/company/partners/

What types of wayfinding can we use with eXactpark?

Wayfinding can be delivered through digital signage or through eXactnav™, our real-time stall availability and navigation app. eXactnav shows open parking spaces or zones in real time, along with up-to-date pricing, and provides multiple navigation options—including routing to a specific stall, a destination with nearby parking, or a chosen zone. The app also includes filtering for different stall types and optional notifications about availability.

All wayfinding options use accurate, real-time data from eXactpark to reduce searching, ease congestion, and support a safer, more predictable driver experience.

Is there a limit to the number of sensors we need for an install?

No. eXactpark is fully scalable, whether you’re instrumenting a single stall, a small set of important spaces, or an entire city or campus. Many organizations start with high-priority areas—such as accessible (ADA) stalls, EV charging spaces, or busy downtown blocks—before expanding more broadly. This approach lets teams focus on the locations that matter most while still enabling additional use cases across enforcement, wayfinding, curbside management, and reporting as their program grows.

What wiring is required for a sensor deployment?

No wiring is needed for our stall-monitoring sensors. eXactpark devices communicate wirelessly using LoRaWAN, so there’s no trenching, conduit, or power wiring required. A long-range LoRaWAN gateway receives the data, keeping the overall deployment low-impact and avoiding the major infrastructure work associated with wired systems.

What about battery life?

eXactpark’s SPS-X sensors are engineered for long-term performance, with a battery life of up to ten years based on typical usage patterns. Both the fully embedded and surface-mounted versions deliver the same reliable battery performance, even as pavement conditions or temperatures change. The sensors are designed to operate in a wide range of environments—from 40°C to +85°C—without losing accuracy or impacting battery life.

The SPS-X uses large, high-capacity lithium thionyl chloride batteries, which provide ultra-long life and a very low discharge rate, helping the system maintain consistent 24/7/365 monitoring. This ensures teams have continuous insight into how their parking assets are being used, regardless of weather, temperature fluctuations, or state changes in the roadway.

What does ongoing maintenance look like for eXactpark?

eXactpark is designed to operate with near-zero ongoing maintenance. The system delivers over 99.9% uptime and uses a fully redundant network to ensure data is received reliably. The SPS-X sensors have an expected battery life of up to ten years, after which the battery—or the entire sensor in the case of embedded installations—will need to be replaced.

The most common maintenance consideration for municipalities is construction. Activities like road repaving, utility work, or redevelopment may require sensors in the affected area to be temporarily removed or replaced. For surface-mounted sensors, this is a simple lift-and-reset process once work is complete; embedded sensors may need to be reinstalled after the roadway is rebuilt. Careful planning and budgeting make the ongoing maintenance manageable.

Overall, eXactpark requires minimal intervention, giving teams a reliable, long-term foundation for monitoring and managing their parking assets.

Is a warranty available?

Yes. eXactpark sensors come with a standard one-year warranty, and organizations can choose optional five-year or ten-year extended warranties for additional coverage. These warranties apply to the sensor hardware, while installation and replacement labour fall under each organization’s maintenance planning. Extended warranties provide added assurance for long-term performance and lifecycle management.

How does it perform with snowplows and street sweepers?

The fully embedded version of eXactpark is designed to operate reliably through year-round conditions, including regular plowing and sweeping. The sensor is installed beneath the pavement surface and then sealed under a layer of epoxy, keeping it protected from direct contact with winter maintenance equipment.

This installation method is different from “flush-mounted” sensors, where the device sits level with the pavement surface. Because eXactpark’s embedded design sits below the pavement layer, it remains protected even as asphalt naturally expands and contracts with seasonal temperature changes. This approach helps maintain long-term accuracy, battery performance, and uninterrupted real-time monitoring—without interfering with normal snowplow or sweeper operations.

How do I access the data?

The eXactpark dashboard provides 24/7/365 access to real-time and historical information—including stall-level availability, dwell times, timelines, zone profiles, heat maps, and compliance indicators. For teams working within existing systems, our API supports easy integration so data can flow directly into other tools. Data access is built into the platform, with no added fees.

How accurate is the data?

eXactpark sensors deliver 99.7% accuracy, verified via continuous testing of over 100,000 state changes. This performance comes from using multiple sensing technologies—including magnetic sensing, radar, Bluetooth, and AI—to validate each state change and ensure reliable detection in a wide range of environments.

The SPS-X is designed to maintain accuracy through seasonal temperature swings (from –40°C to +85°C), pavement movement, and common sources of interference such as buried metal or electromagnetic noise. Both the fully embedded and surface-mounted versions deliver the same high-accuracy performance, supporting consistent 24/7/365 monitoring across all installation conditions.

These FAQs cover the core capabilities of eXactpark, but each organization applies the platform differently depending on its goals—whether that’s improving compliance, supporting wayfinding, organizing the curb, enhancing reporting, or strengthening long-term planning. With accurate, real-time data and flexible integration options, eXactpark provides a strong foundation for day-to-day management and broader strategy.
